Calendar Updated 4-18

The schedule for the week has been posted to the GoogleCalendar.  I have not updated the Wiki yet,  as we are not beginning the next chapter until Wednesday (students review their work tomorrow and take the Chapter 11 Quiz on Tuesday).

All links should be active by Wednesday for Chapter 4′s lessons.

Calendar Updated

Good Evening Everyone!

I hope you have had a fabulous spring break!  We certainly have tried, despite other “factors,” which you may or may not have heard about.  I will not be posting any information regarding these issues, but Ms. Walsh has–so you might check her blog!

The Calendar has been updated and all assignments are posted–homework included.  There will be a quiz on Chapter 11, Section 3 on Friday.  A study guide will be sent home by Thursday (though I am hoping to have it finished in time for Wednesday.

Quiz on Wednesday!

There will be a Chapter 9 Quiz on Wednesday.  If you have misplaced your Quiz-Quiz Trade Checklist, please check the class calendar tonight and I will post a copy of the questions.

Spring Break is just around the corner :)

Slideshow questions posted

I have posted the slideshow questions to the slideshow.

Parents, please note:  This assignment has been initiated in class and that the students have been working on the slideshows for over a week now.  If your child wishes to work on this at home, they are welcome to, but please know that their partner is also responsible for the information as well.  Your child should not be doing all of the work.

**The majority of students (90%) have completed the first ten questions with their partners within the classroom environment. **

**Also, please remind your child that they SHOULD NOT be creating “another” slideshow at home.  If they are choosing to work on this at home, then all they need to do is type their responses in the word processor you use at home, be it Microsoft Word/Works, Open Office Writer, etc.  Once typed, have them email me the document or bring it on Monday saved on a USB thumb/flash/stick (whatever you choose to call it) :-D **

Class Update 1-25

^^New^^Greek Root Word List^^New^^

As we enter into a study of Ancient Greece and eventually Rome, all students will begin a historical study of language using Ancient Greek and Roman language as a basis.

Beginning this week (1-25)  Students will receive a list of 5 root words derived from either the Ancient Greeks or Romans.  We will have weekly assessments at the end of the week to measure the knowledge students have gained from these words.  All classes will be required to learn the root words and their meanings while the advanced class will also be required to know the example words and their definitions.  Please refer to the calendar to see specific due dates, etc.

^^New^^Advanced Class Calendar^^New^^

As many of you have noticed, parents and students alike, that the transition to middle school often takes a long time.  For many students, the transition truly takes place over the entire school year.  However, students placed in the advanced track tend to transition much faster.  Realizing this, the pace for all classes, advanced and regular, have been the same.  However, the content has been altered for the advanced class. Now that we are entering the 3rd 9 weeks, the pace and content will become more modified to better meet the needs of the advanced student.  Because of this a new calendar specifically for the ADVANCED class has been posted to the blog.

Class Update–1-14-20

Good Morning Everyone (its 1:03 am when I’m typing this)

**Quick reminder, our Semester Exam will be tomorrow (Friday).  It has been posted on the GoogleCalendar since last Friday.**

This past Monday was the final day for students to complete the Egypt Centers we had initially begun on December 7th.  However, as always, I will accept any late work which includes these centers though next week.

With the completion of the Egypt centers also means a Quiz will be forthcoming.  I do not like giving assessments on the first day back from a weekend so the quiz will not be on Tuesday (remember there is no school on Monday).  This means the Chapter 3 Quiz will be on Wednesday of next week.

Tomorrow we will begin our centers on Ancient Greece.  I have already updated both the class calendar as well as activitated the links within the wiki to reflect the Greek activities.

As always, if you have any questions, NEVER HESITATE TO EMAIL OR CALL ME!

:-D

Google Calendar Updated

The calendar has been updated through January 27th.  The 2nd 9 weeks ends on January 21st.  Any and all work must be turned in by the 19th in order to receive late credit.

I am in the process of grading the Egypt Centers this week (the assignments have already been posted in the gradebook and notations have been inserted of whether I have received the work as of now.

Any questions, please ask!

We will be in the media center for the next three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
